The aim of this critical ethnography is to examine the caring outcomes of Future Black Leaders (FBL) as they partner with Sandy Shores High School (SSHS). FBL is a predominately Black run ELO that partners with SSHS located in a predominantly Black neighborhood of a large western metropolitan city. Data collection and analysis occurred from July 2020 – April 2021. Data sources include: 13 interviews, over 60 hours of participant-observer observations, and key documents. This study illuminates how FBL and SSHS foster outcomes that cared for Blackness while working within traditionally neoliberal logics that views Blackness as deficient and deliquent. FBL and SSHS were able engage in caring outcomes by focusing on relationship building with staff and students
