This paper examines how teachers who participated in the Computer Science for English Learners professional development discuss English Learner student support efforts in Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles. Guided by grounded theory, analysis drew from teacher interview data gathered between 2020-2022. Analysis revealed that while teachers believe ELs can be successful in AP CSP, contextual factors shape how they make sense of EL student inclusion. The findings remind us that while teachers are often charged to address inequities, solutions must also involve stakeholders beyond the classroom. More research needs to address how to better support EL students and their teachers' efforts to engage in cutting-edge curricula if we are to enact change and effectively advocate for this particular student population
