Determining Neuropsychological Patterns in Students Identified as Emotionally Disturbed (Poster 28)

Thu, April 13, 4:40 to 6:10pm CDT (4:40 to 6:10pm CDT), Hyatt Regency Chicago, Floor: East Tower - Exhibit Level, Riverside West Exhibition Hall

Abstract

As assessment in education becomes more intervention-based, addressing neuropsychological areas and patterns becomes crucial in determining educational needs of students. A considerable amount of research has demonstrated relationships among cognitive processes, behavior, and specific academic skills. However, the neuropsychological processing patterns in ED students have not yet been thoroughly explored. By using the Integrated SNP/CHC Model of neuropsychology to address potential patterns in ED students, researchers in education may further the realm of understanding the ED student population and appropriately identifying and supporting student disabilities and needs.
