Abstract

Efforts to create and support equity and inclusion for diverse education students must include attention to the instructors and coursework students encounter in their education classes. In this paper, we share process-related findings and reflections from the first year of an ongoing faculty learning and development program and action research project targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) though curricular inquiry and revision at a private, four-year, predominantly white institution (PWI) of higher education in the southern United States. Through candid engagement and reflection with others about this work, we intend to inform our project’s next cycle and provide a possible road map for teacher educators wishing to engage in similar transformative inquiry work.
