Abstract

Teachers worldwide experienced heightened stress during the COVID-19 pandemic, which may make them more likely to quit. A better understanding of the association between teachers’ perceived stress and turnover intentions under the influence of individual and organizational factors may inform the design of targeted preventative interventions to reduce teachers’ job-related stress and address the potential teacher turnover. Findings from a state-wide survey indicate that teacher stress was significantly related to turnover intentions, and a supportive working environment may help reduce the negative impact of perceived stress.
