Abstract

Nurturing effective leaders for social justice is crucial for transforming education and women leadership for social justice has garnered scholarly attention globally. This paper studies the role of experiences of Indian women leaders in addressing equity concerns. A qualitative case study was conducted on 6 Indian women leaders explored perspectives of women leaders and results presented emergence of two themes i.e barriers faced by women leaders and overcoming challenges, emphasising the need for developing innovative strategies for encouraging diversity, inclusion and equity in the educational leadership ladder . The study also discusses future directions for enhancing women representation in the decision-making fora and encouraging women to aspire for leadership roles for an inclusive society.
