Abstract

To enhance the education of quantitative methodology among STEM education researchers and the application of quantitative methods in STEM education research, we developed and implemented the Quantitative Research Methods (QRM) for STEM Education Scholars Program with the support of NSF. In 2020 -2022, two cohorts of QRM Scholars went through a year-long training that included a one-week institute on fundamental quantitative methodology, live-stream workshops, working with an assigned quantitative mentor, and social network infrastructure. The current study evaluated the effectiveness and fidelity of the QRM Scholars Program and the evaluation results indicated that we reached the primary Program goals, and the Program set an example for future similar training programs and provided insights about the best practices.
