The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore how a school leader, along with teachers, can develop collective critical consciousness through dialogue in order to foster responsive teacher competencies. Developing collective critical consciousness, accessing and valuing community cultural wealth (CCW), and being intentional in creating a caring teacher community are all essential components to Culturally Responsive Teacher Development. The approach was to engage in monthly Critical Praxis Círculos (CPC) as a way to develop teachers’ disposition for implementing Community Cultural Wealth (CCW) informed pedagogy. This qualitative study sheds light on the process of engaging teachers and administrators in praxis efforts, using dialogue as a conduit to develop collective critical consciousness that can impact teachers’ dispositions toward CCW informed pedagogy.
