Abstract

Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs) can play a crucial role in supporting Southeast Asian and Pacific Islander students, especially in Texas which hosts the third largest Asian American population in the United States. Given the educational disparities that exist for these populations and the relative dearth in the literature on AANAPISIs in the Southern region of the United States, this case study illuminates the ways an AANAPISI located in Texas serves their Southeast Asian and Pacific Islander students and how they can better actualize an Asian American and Pacific Islander-serving identity.
