Abstract

In this paper, we provide additional evidence about whether social justice college-access program involvement protects Black students against the consequences of racial discrimination experienced in the school context during COVID-19. Using a mixed-methods approach, we examine the following two research questions: 1) How Black students’ social justice college access program involvement influence their racial discrimination experiences and responses in school, and 2) How Black students’ construct scholarly identities and increase college-going behavior against the constant backdrop of racial discrimination in school?
