Abstract

This study explores vocational pedagogy to stimulate students’ work-based collaborative learning in the context of industry-university collaboration. The concept of classroom orchestration allows teachers to see pedagogy as the coordination of a multiplicity of activities and as the integration of technologies and the adaptation of activities to the classroom context (pedagogical orchestration). A case study with twenty teacher interviews was adopted to obtain teachers’ orientation to pedagogical practice in facilitating students’ work-based collaborative learning. Findings suggest that the integration of work-based learning fosters the establishment of a vocation-oriented teaching practice that supports collaboration between universities and enterprises. Thus, the research highlights the designed classroom orchestration cam promotes collaborative learning and pedagogic development in the vocational learning environment.
