This study investigated vlogging as a medium for self-presentation. Normally, presentation of self occurs in interaction where individuals present themselves in specific ways based on the impressions they want to give. Young adults with intellectual disabilities do not often have opportunities for self-presentation. One of the contexts for developing a sense of self is in independent living spaces such as an apartment shared with peers. Given the complex and exploratory nature of this inquiry, we applied textual analysis methodology as a form of qualitative research to analyze verbal statements, facial expressions, demeanor, as well as pauses, and hesitations. Our analyses yielded four discursive themes: diaries, identity, narcissism, and connection.
