Using the Foucaultian concept of subjectivation, this paper seeks to consider and disrupt the internalized fascism of the discursive systems and histories of our shared teacher preparation program. We recognize the manner in which facistic ideologies and hegemonic power structures are inscribed and reinscribed in the field of education. These constricting and confining forces insidiously flow in, between, and among the authors of teacher education, reifying deeply problematic and unethical ways of being and thinking as educators. Confronting these forces and explicitly engaging in an aesthetic and ethical praxis towards heterogeneous subjectivation for teacher educators, preservice teachers, and the schools we serve, creates a space in which we might imaginatively coauthor new discourses and ways of being as educators.
