"According to UNESCO's ""Educating for a Sustainable Future"" initiative, economic development is made up of ""human development,"" and a ""sustainable"" economy is strongly tied to the effective conservation and equitable distribution of natural resources. Consequently, environmental education is seen as a crucial instrument for long-term development. ""Education for Sustainable Development,"" according to UNESCO, may be done through actively developing skills, capabilities, values, and understanding rather than passively obtaining knowledge. This study aimed to determine whether student achievement in the primary education curriculum aligns with the needs of sustainable environmental education. According to the findings of the study, the achievements included in direct education programs are primarily aimed at developing knowledge and capacity but do not suffice in developing skills, understanding, and values; it was also discovered that the programs are mostly focused on the concept of protecting the environment we live in rather than sustainable environmental education.
Key Words: United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG), Primary Curriculum, Learning for Sustainability, Environmental Education for Sustainability."
