Abstract

Two-year college students graduate at lower rates than students who attend four-year colleges. One of the barriers is successful completion of mathematics courses. Despite the creation of various types of tutoring (e.g., office hours, supplemental instruction, tutoring centers), there is low engagement. This study seeks to understand students perceptions and usage of tutoring in mathematics along with their recommendations for how to encourage students to attend.
