Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) technology is the content literacy support of the future. Applying VR in educational settings, and specifically with historically excluded learners, has not been fully explored. Due to the pandemic, learners were at home and social distancing sent all of us into virtual spaces. One Upward Bound backed college-readiness program piloting VR in their mentoring and tutoring campaigns
To determine the efficacy of utilizing VR for mentoring and tutoring sessions, this study seeks to provide insights into the functionality of the college-readiness program's implementation as well as guidance for future implementation using VR in various educational settings. This evaluative case study follows a college-readiness program through one full school year cycle for the implementation of VR support, during a global pandemic.
