Abstract

The purpose of this research project is to investigate the needs of international high school students in America. This study focuses on the testimonies of non-native English speakers, and how to best remedy the lack of support they receive in their high school life. For this study, the primary method of research was surveying students at Friends Academy and interviewing those who reported lower levels of English proficiency. Through the collection and presentation of this research, I hope to highlight the plight of students who are marginalized due to a lack of support in speaking the English language for school.
