Session Type: Symposium
This session presents an international forum to learn and discuss how countries at different stages of development in different regions of the world (South Africa, Nepal, Vietnam, South Korea, and the U.S.) address educational policy challenges towards holistic and equitable child development. Among the key factors discussed include the extent to which policy and political leaders share a commitment to support whole-child development, the level of governmental funding for education, the quality and training of educators, tracking the progress of the whole-child development agenda, efforts to improve equity and inclusion, and cross-sector collaboration. The goal is to promote international exchange of critical ideas, lessons, and evidence about how national education reform policies work or not towards inclusive whole-child development.
