Interrogating the Truth in Educational Research in the Arab World: Perspectives From an Underrepresented Context

Abstract
In this session, we seek to interrogate the truth in educational research conducted in the Arab world, which is an under-represented context in the published mainstream research from the global north. As a result, there is lack of organically developed research and over-reliance on borrowed western views on educational issues. Therefore, in this session we try to critically view and review the current status of truth in educational research through six papers coming from different countries in the region: Oman, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to these national studies, comparative and cross-country studies will cover other countries in the region, uncovering epistemological and practical development in educational research.
