Session Type: Working Group Roundtable
Youth participatory action research (YPAR) has garnered attention in the field of educational leadership in recent years. However, the extant literature highlights substantial barriers when minoritized youth seek to engage in YPAR in schools, particularly from resistant school staff and administrators. However, this convening strives to highlight empirical research that examines the role of supportive aspiring and practicing educational leaders, working alongside marginalized students and families to create social change. This roundtable session will converge stakeholders from across the country who have engaged in YPAR within P-12 settings: practicing administrators, aspiring school leaders, and university researchers.
