Transforming the Future of Educational Research: RISE Caribbean

Abstract
In this symposium, we describe envisioning the research-practice partnership (Weinstein & Worrell, 2016) of the Caribbean Educational Research Initiative (CERI), as it occurs across national and international borders, and undergirds several parallel and ongoing projects in the Caribbean region. Research-practice partnerships are “an important approach to knowledge generation and the improvement of education” (The Spencer Foundation, 2022) yet are often undertaken within countries in determining their salience for guiding intentional and practical decision-making. In alignment with the AERA 2023 theme, “Interrogating Consequential Education Research in Pursuit of Truth,” this symposium describes how a research-practice partnership – undertaken across countries, universities, and colleges, internationally and regionally – holds promise for interrogating consequential educational research to faithfully address ethical educational change.
