Representation, Access, and Engagement: Exploring Problems of Knowledge/Use in Practice and Research

Fri, April 14, 2:50 to 4:20pm CDT (2:50 to 4:20pm CDT), Swissôtel Chicago, Floor: Event Centre, 1st Floor, Zurich F

Session Type: Working Group Roundtable

Abstract

This session brings together three groups of researchers and educators addressing
critical “problems of practice” for those engaged in developing and sharing the resources and expertise needed to improve schools on a large-scale:
• Problems of representation – identifying and representing educational improvements and innovations and in ways that enable others to build on/adapt them in other contexts
• Problems of engagement– finding, reaching, and engaging others who can learn from and build on these improvements and innovations
The session will critically examine the work of each group, identify connections and common challenges, and explore avenues for these and other groups to collaborate in developing new and more impactful ways of sharing educator’s expertise in the future.
