Session Type: Symposium
The 2023 AERA Program Theme invites educational scholars to deeply engage consequential research in the pursuit of truth. Yet, as highlighted in the call for Division G/Section 5, there is a paucity of research on the complexities, tensions, and contradictions that arise when educators attempt to address “truth” and examine critical issues in the classroom. This session brings together four groups of educational researchers who have studied these dilemmas in multiple science and technology settings–fields that are often presumed to be less political than other disciplinary content areas.
