Session Type: Roundtable Session
The session reconceptualizes mentoring to improve equitable processes and outcomes, demonstrates strategic practices for redesigning initiatives, and applies findings to a national context. In professional schools, in particular, there are often few educational researchers. This produces a need for connection, opportunities, collaboration, and development. Session presentations highlight efforts and gaps, assessing and establishing a sustained mentoring culture, interprofessional mentoring, mentoring across difference, and applying strategies nationally within professional organizations. Discussions focus on redesigning and implementing professional mentoring at a national level to increase belonginess and inclusion, assist in career and personal development, build professional networks and communities.
