Theorizing Time and Space in Empirical Research: Potentials and Possibilities

Abstract
This symposium includes a theoretical review and four empirical papers that explore the affordances of time/space in empirical research. We suggest that time and space are significant, yet often neglected and under-theorized, aspects of empirical research. We argue that time and space are inescapable dimensions of context and intentionally explore various dimensions of time/space related to children’s becoming, transnational digital communication, identity development, and literacy learning.
