Session Type: Symposium
Many education scholars strongly support behaviors that promote openness and transparency in research. This support, however, is limited in practice due to a lack of available training outlining practical first steps researchers can take to implement open science practices. This session is designed to provide useful training to researchers who have limited experience with open science, but are looking to engage in more transparent research practice. It includes guidance on pre-registration, reporting guidelines, data sharing and how to comply with open access journal policies.
How to Preregister a Study - Hunter Gehlbach, Johns Hopkins University; Allison Lombardi, University of Connecticut
How to Archive and Share Data - Sara A. Hart, Florida State University
How to Comply With Open-Access Journal Policies - Jill L. Adelson, Adelson Research & Consulting, LLC; Michael S. Matthews, University of North Carolina - Charlotte
How to Effectively Use Reporting Guidelines - Sean Grant, University of Oregon
How to Utilize Open Educational Resources Through the Open Scholarship Knowledge Base - Marcy Reedy, Center for Open Science
