Abstract

In 2020, a global pandemic forced P-12 schools and universities to transition to virtual instruction, and students were sent home to witness a tragic series of examples of violence against Black, Latinx, and Asian people that still continues. These events cast new spotlights on the traumas experienced by students of Color and added urgency to calls to make racial justice more central to teacher preparation programs. The primary objective of this session is to introduce the work, instruments, and findings of four universities that are part of a networked improvement community that is using multiple strands of data to interrogate the racial equity climate in their teacher preparation programs and learn from each other as they implement systemic changes.
