Session Type: Symposium
This session shares the latest science in the measurement of educator well-being (EWB) and SEL practices (SEL Assessment Science), and how educators and leaders intentionally used measures of EWB and SEL to improve the conditions for teaching and learning in their schools (SEL Assessment Practices) during the 2021-22 school year. Presentations will include findings from recent studies examining the granular measurement of educators’ affective experiences, a multi-dimensional assessment of their sources of well-being (SOW) and uses of SEL practices, and illustrative case studies of how school teams intentionally integrated these data to support their students and themselves to thrive in difficult times. Recommendations for best practice in EWB and SEL assessment construction and data-driven SEL intervention will be discussed.
