Session Type: Symposium
This session explores the ways in which scholars and practitioners are engaging in addressing inequities, supporting students and alumni in preparation programs to learn about anti-racism and community engagement amidst a time when social justice frameworks are actively banned or dismissed. Presenters will discuss case studies, critical policy analysis research studies, and community-engaged learning initiatives across pk-20 and community settings. There is much to be learned about how scholars and practitioners facilitate research and praxis for social justice across k-12, higher education, and community settings and the nuances faced while doing the work. This session is meant to be a space to listen and engage in conversations of how to use and develop social justice praxis in contentious times.
