Session Type: Symposium
The field of SEL is burgeoning, and with that has come an excessive number of frameworks and assessments. This goal of this session is to highlight key considerations for practitioners and researchers when sifting through the myriad of options for implementation. The first talk discusses efforts to create a coherent, scientifically grounded taxonomy of skills designed to link terms across various frameworks. In the second talk, the authors provide an overview of ten criteria for selecting a framework. The next centers on empirical support for one specific framework that can be used to organize social and emotional skills, and the final talk similarly provides empirical support for an integrative model of skills and an assessment based on this model.
