Session Type: Symposium
We are Pacific Islander and/or Asian researchers, artists, storytellers, and community activists resisting imperialism and dreaming and creating futurities for our peoples. We offer how we’ve been working within and across communities, considering feminist, queer, racial, (inter)ethnic, historical, religious, anti/de-colonial, and other critical lenses.
Collaborating with folks from and beyond our own communities, we engage in arts-based, autoethnographic, participatory and relationally-driven practices to learn about continuing legacies of solidarity, sustaining communities, and engaging in self-reflexivity.
We share connected learnings under three themes: a) relationships are essential in the pursuit of anti-imperialist futures, b) addressing historical and contemporary issues require working across disciplines, groups, and identity markers, and c) remembering the stories of resistance to guide pathways forward.
