Session Type: Working Group Roundtable
Scholars explore the consequential issue of equal education for women under their socio-cultural, economic and political contexts, and critically examine their local responses to this global challenge. With special attention to women of color and in disadvantaged positions, the studies interrogate the theme with a variety of methods, such as case studies, content and historical analysis, mixed-method, and time-series analysis of large-scale international data and identify the global status and trends of women in education. With its inherent nature of comparison, the session allows its audience to see how the educational systems in China, India, the USA and other countries tackle the urgent issue in education, think out of the box, and to disrupt the inequitable gender system worldwide.
