Session Type: Symposium
This session will explore digital learning through four perspectives that focus on questions of equitable teaching and learning: 1) indigenous language learning; 2) supporting tertiary digital pedagogies; 3) the use of Virtual Reality (VR) to share indigenous narratives; and 4) use of mixed reality technologies to foster cross-curricular learning opportunities. The research perspectives are embedded within the Aotearoa New Zealand context which highlights the necessity for these approaches to be firmly grounded in an agenda for equity for indigenous peoples. Each of the presenters will share the results of recent research studies and draw out a collection of principles for educational equity, with specific focus on integration of digital learning that supports teaching and learning alongside indigenous narratives and language.
