The papers in this session aim to expand the construct of institutional agents to examine the impact they have on Latino men’s transition into and through higher education. Despite gains in college enrollment and completion, gaps between Latino men and their white and women counterparts persist. The papers in this session examine how institutional agents support aspirations and foster opportunities for Latino men through various higher education contexts. The authors will engage in discussion of how to interrogate educational practices by identifying how institutional agents can become more supportive of Latino men as they move through higher education.
