Abstract

Are you hearing people say that higher education as a field is going through a “Great
Resignation”? Does this have you wondering what this means for the current state of the job market? This
year’s Division J Fireside Chat will showcase some insider conversations that combine the conversation
of what’s happening within academia alongside what it means to navigate a job market considering
faculty and industry positions. Our panelists have a wealth of experience and insight into what life is like
working within the academy and will provide first-hand knowledge as to why industry positions are
viable options post-PhD as well as the factors affecting these decisions.
