Abstract

Our fireside chat seeks to promote the professional development of graduate students by acquainting them with employment scopes, requirements, preparation, and practices suited for a job market dramatically changed by the COVID-19 pandemic. For graduate students, especially those on the verge of completing their degrees, navigating the job market, and completing application processes can be tense and uncertain. International students may face additional struggles due to limited networks. This year, we will provide graduate students with the opportunity to meet early-career professionals in academia and industry to discuss the job market and application processes and employment possibilities considering current labor market conditions. Our panelists are recent or soon-to-be graduates who have begun their careers and can provide up-to-date labor market experience.
