Session Type: Invited Speaker Session

Abstract

The 2023 Division G Fireside Chat will allow its audiences to explore methodological frameworks that aim to address unequal access to educational opportunities and resources. Research methodologies, theories, ethical frameworks, methods, and the onto-epistemologies they encompass, are entry points for researchers to enact justice as praxis. To this end, this panel discussion will allow participants to explore the intersections of critical and (de)colonial quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods methodologies to (re)consider their own methodological ways forward as educational researchers. This session will inspire participants who wish to create a vision of how educational research can emerge more robust, equitable, (de)colonial through a re-imagining of our current methodological landscapes with our panelists.
