Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
Pursuing a doctoral degree can be challenging, especially for first-generation doctoral students of color. Featuring a group of first-generation, international doctoral students and early career scholars, this session opens a space for first-generation doctoral students to discuss individual and community strategies for not only surviving but thriving in doctoral programs in education. This conversation also invites faculty members who mentor and advise doctoral students to participate in the discussion on how to provide support for doctoral students, especially first-generation/international doctoral students of color. Come to join us in a conversation of community, support, and care!
