Abstract

The first part of this session will focus on SIG business, updates, and celebrations.

The second part of this session will be a panel presentation by invited speakers.

ABSTRACT: One of the greatest challenges confronting educators and teacher educators is how to promote, protect, and nurture Indigenous cultures in an ever-changing modern society. This is of particular concern for Indigenous peoples who are forced into cities and away from their homelands. This session will serve as a platform for teacher educators from Aotearoa/New Zealand, Hawaiʻi, and Taiwan to discuss their efforts to develop approaches to teacher education that embrace indigenous knowledge, practices, wellbeing, and politics.
