Sat, April 15, 9:50 to 11:20am CDT (9:50 to 11:20am CDT), SwissĂ´tel Chicago, Floor: Event Centre, 1st Floor, Zurich B

Session Type: Invited Speaker Session

Abstract

Amidst civil rights removals from public schools throughout the country and other actions associated with the pervasive and systematic mischaracterization of CRT, in this Division K Vice Presidential session, Critical Race Theory Scholars critically trouble the ensuing politics of censorship and erasure. From a variety of perspectives, panelists will explore this decades-old academic theory, and trouble its positioning as scapegoat for banning anti-racist efforts aimed to foster equity and justice.
