Special and Inclusive Education Research SIG Pre-Conference Mentoring Session: The Academic Job Search

Abstract

The Special and Inclusive Education Research SIG (SIER) will hold a 90 minute pre-conference mentoring session that will focus on supporting doctoral students and early career scholars on navigating the academic job search. This pre-conference session will include a panel discussion followed by small group interactive breakout sessions covering a range of some of the following topics: the cv and cover letter, the phone or in-person interview, the research presentation/talk, teaching demonstration, negotiations, and navigating the job search as a historically underrepresented scholar.
