Sat, April 13, 3:05 to 4:35pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

Refugee adaptation is a vital issue worldwide. According to UNHCR, there are 103 million people forcibly displaced from their hometowns, and nearly 32.5 million of them are recognized as refugees as of 2023 all over the world (UNHCR, 2023). Turkey, the most refugee-receiving country in the world, has more than 4 million refugees in official numbers and this number increases with the number of unregistered refugees. There are around one million refugee children under 18 in Turkey. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the peace education program on conflict resolution skills of both local and refugee students. Thus, it is aimed to decrease conflicts between locals and refugees and facilitate the adaptation of refugees
