Modifying and Evaluating the OpenSUNY Course Quality Review: Course Designer and Instructor Perspectives on Inclusion (Poster 27)

Fri, April 12, 7:45 to 9:15am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

To meet inclusive pedagogical goals, we revised an open source rubric, OpenSUNY Course Quality Review (OSCQR). Then 74 faculty members and instructional designers evaluated the revised rubric. Among all item ratings in the six dimensions of the modified OSCQR rubric, participants rated items in Overview and Information, Interaction, and Assessment and Feedback higher in importance compared to Technology and Tools, Design and Layout, and Content and Activities. Both ID and faculty groups gave highest scores on items in the Overview and Information and items in Items in Interaction dimensions. The Technology and Tools dimension had lowest rating out of the six dimensions. Items in the Design and Layout dimension were rated with a wider range of opinions among all participants.
