The study examined the impact of an Internationalization at Home (IaH) project on fostering intercultural competence (Knowledge, Skills, Attitude) in undergraduate students in a special education teacher preparation program. Data was gathered using pre-and-post surveys and interviews. The survey revealed that the majority of students (72%) reported improved Skills, with more than half (56%) reporting an improvement in Knowledge and 41% stating an improvement in Attitude. The themes generated from the interviews were somewhat different from the survey results where the majority (81%) reported an increase in Knowledge. However, both survey and interview data showed a low impact on Attitude, with more than one-fifth (21%) reporting a decline in Attitude. Educational implications are presented along with recommendations for future research
