Abstract

This conceptual research study aims to comprehensively understand multiculturalism in U.S. music education through three specific objectives. Firstly, it seeks to analyze the historical development of multiculturalism in music education. The second objective is to explore the perceived importance of multiculturalism in music education and identify associated benefits. The third objective is to critically examine limitations and barriers hindering the effective integration of multiculturalism in U.S. music education. The findings from the resources are synthesized to develop a comprehensive understanding of multiculturalism in U.S. music education. Ultimately, this study will provide significant discussions for educators, researchers, and policymakers about how to enhance the integration of multiculturalism, fostering inclusivity, and the holistic development of students.
