The underrepresentation of research on Black women educators and by Black women educators is the driving force behind this methodological approach. This work aims to destabilize the extractive methods that so often dominate academia by lifting up the voices, stories, and experiences of Black women. The 4C methodology is introduced as a vehicle that connects identity with hair as a means to underscore the importance of Black women educators' experiences and center healing by offering a space to create, reflect, and remember.
