A Framework of Self-Regulated Learning From Multiple Resources (Poster 9)

Sun, April 14, 3:05 to 4:35pm, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

This study proposes a Self-Regulated Learning from Multiple Resources (SR-MR) framework,
which integrates the models of Multiple Document Task-Based Relevance Assessment and
Content Extraction (MD-TRACE, Rouet, 2006) and self-regulated learning (Winne & Hadwin,
1998). The SR-MR framework conceptualizes students’ self-regulated learning from multiple
resources as unfolding over the course of three phases (i.e., planning, execution, and production),
delineating how students’ monitoring, control, and regulation extend across the three phases.
Critically, the SR-MR framework specifies the cognitive mechanisms of how learning processes
can be influenced by students’ engagement in various aspects of self-regulated learning, within
the context of learning from multiple resources.
