This study investigated the structural (construct) validity of the newly developed Engineering Interests Measure (EIM). Following the analytic approaches used in Golino et al.’s (2021) study, we conducted 1) parallel analysis combined with exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and 2) exploratory graph analysis (EGA) to investigate the dimensions that arise from the empirical data. We compared the resulting dimensions derived empirically from the EFA and EGA and examined the theoretical support for the dimensions. The results from both EFA and EGA retained 38 items from the item pool. Four conceptually similar dimensions that aligned with their theoretical domains were identified. The construct validity of EIM and the significance of the study were discussed.
