Though the study of religion has been discussed in current research in social studies, no studies critically examine the content included in elementary state social studies standards. This study utilizes qualitative content analysis and Critical Religious Pluralism Theory (CRPT) to investigate the content and ideology of elementary social standards about religion, especially regarding themes of privilege, oppression, hegemony, and marginalization.
