Utilizing a Narrative Inquiry Merged With a Multiple Intrinsic Case Study Design for Deeper Understanding

Sat, April 13, 7:45 to 9:15am, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Floor: Level 200, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

Employing an intersectional feminist framework, this study provides a deeper understanding of the experiences of minoritized women educational leaders in senior level roles in Philadelphia, PA and New Orleans, LA. Using a narrative inquiry merged with a multiple intrinsic case study design, this study addresses gaps in literature focusing on the experiences of minoritized women in P-20 educational leadership through restorying and counter narratives, allowing for the narratives of individual women to be amplified to shed light onto the continued gender and non-dominant inequities within educational institutions. Participants’ pathways and narratives were shared through graphic narrative participant profiles to highlight the complexities of their identities, the non-linear pathways, and agency.
